Morimens

Morimens is a roguelike deckbuilder set in a dark world full of dangers, quite clearly inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos. The game essentially offers a similar experience to the classic Slay the Spire, but controlling a group of girls with an anime aesthetic and fighting against some of the creatures and deities invented by H.P. Lovecraft and August Derleth.

To play Morimens, the first thing you need to do is create a user account. There are various ways for you to log in to the game, including your Google or Facebook account, although you can also use an Epic, Apple, Steam, or Qookka Games account. Any of these options allow you to play without a hitch and, perhaps more importantly, allow you to save your progress in the cloud. As a cross-platform game, you can play on both Android and PC with the same profile.

Tactical turn-based battles

Undoubtedly the central element of the game, battles in Morimens will feel very familiar to anyone who has ever played the aforementioned Slay the Spire or any of its many clones. At the beginning of each round, you can see what your enemies are planning to do, so you will have to try to play the cards in your deck to neutralize their attacks and try to deal the maximum possible damage. One key aspect of Morimens is that you can take a group of up to four characters and create special synergies between them.

Recruit over a dozen characters

When you start playing Morimens you will receive four initial characters completely free of charge, but to get other characters in the game you will have to go through its gacha system. Thanks to this system, you can enhance both your characters and their special abilities and, of course, recruit some of the best characters in the game. For example, Ramona will always start on your team, but to get Winkle, one of the best assists in the game, you have to get very lucky.

An almost infinite game

Whenever you start a new game in Morimens, the setting and encounters will be randomized. As a result, just as in other roguelikes, you never play the same game twice. One run, for example, can be full of silver and other treasures, while in another you might encounter a series of elite enemies. Thanks to all this randomness, the game manages to stay fresh for longer. You never know what awaits you the next time you play.
